Community Gardening in Myddelton Square

Myddelton Square Gardens is a public garden, managed by Islington Council, in the centre of Myddelton Sqare. For the last few years, a group of local residents, working with Islington Council, has been restoring, planting and maintaining the ornamental flower beds in the centre of the gardens.

The gardening group is proud to have restored the formerly derelict central flower beds. With the support of the volunteer gardeners, the council, Myddelton Square Association and donations. The flower beds, which had been allowed to fall into disrepair, have now been fully re-planted and are being regularly watered and maintained by volunteers.

The MSA and gardening group was also able to use generous donations to install new railings around the bed, and to help restore and re-instate a water fountain in the gardens.

The Myddelton Square Gardening Group meets regularly to work on the gardens (normally about one weekend a month, particular during the spring and autumn), and local residents take turns to water and weed the flower beds in the summer.
